– 450 g of lean meat, cut into pieces
– 60 ml of oil
– 6 fresh tomatoes, chopped
– 2 medium onions, chopped
– 2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 100 g of raisins, chopped
– 2 tablespoons tomato paste
– 600 ml of tomato sauce
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


Brown the meat in a little oil and remove from pan. Add the tomatoes, onions and green peppers to the pan, add the remaining oil. Simmer until vegetables are tender, then add the garlic, spices, meat, raisins, tomato paste and tomato sauce. Simmer until sauce is thickened and the meat is tender (about 40 minutes). If necessary water can be added.
Serve accompanied by rice or couscous.
