FLIRT TIPS

Single and ready to meet new guys or girls? Take one or two of these flirting tips for a test-drive each time you go out and see what works for you!

1.  Choose Your Targets

You don’t have to have a crush on someone in order to flirt. Practice flirting with random people you see every day – people who might not even be on your dating radar – in order to hone your skills. That way, you’ll have some flirting experience under your belt when you approach the people who really matter.

2. Get closer!

Then break eye contact just long enough to glance down at his lips. It’s a subtle cue that you’re open to a kiss!

3. Choose a theme song.

Play it to pump yourself up while you’re getting ready. Then whenever you hear it when you’re out, it will make you feel good — and bold enough to say hi to the hottest of the hot guys!

4. Keep gum or Tic Tacs in your purse.

«Want one?» is the world’s easiest icebreaker.

5. Master the bump-and-flatter.

Run into a cute guy/girl at a crowded party. Say, «Oh, sorry — I become a total klutz around cute guys/girls.» Then just introduce yourself.

6.  Make Eye Contact

If you don’t make eye contact, you’ll look bored or uninterested, and that’s not an impression you want to give. Too shy to look them right in the eyes? Here’s a trick: look at the spot right between their eyes. It’ll look like eye contact to them.

7. Practice your technique.

Sneak in a little flirting whenever you can, like with your hot waiter. You’ll be amazed how «practice flirting» boosts your confidence when you’re talking to a guy/girl you really like.

8. Let a hot guy/girl catch you looking at him!

When he/she does, smile — it will give him/her the in to approach you.

9. Be interested.

Make a point to show how involved you are in the conversation by asking questions or saying «yeah» and «mmm-hmm.» Without realizing why, he’ll be encouraged to keep talking.10.  Come Up With a Compliment

Pick one thing you like about the way they look – like their hair, their smile or a piece of clothing. Let them know in a friendly way how much you like it. It’ll make them feel good and will open them up to you. (If you can’t think of an opening line for tip #2, a compliment will do.)

11. Memorize a great joke (or one that’s so bad it’s good!).

Knowing you can pull it out anytime means you’ll never have an awkward pause in conversation. Plus, if you make a guy/girl laugh, you’re totally in!

12. Spritz perfume on the back of your neck

Guys/girls will catch your scent when you lean in for a hug.

13. Be obvious sometimes.

Like when you «accidentally» throw your Frisbee toward cute guys/girls in the park, an exaggerated apology lets them know you’re flirting on purpose (and in on the joke).

14.  Smile

You don’t have to go all Bozo the Clown, but the idea is to look like you enjoy talking to them. So, be sure to throw them a smile whenever it makes sense. If they shoot one back, you’ll know that they like talking to you, too.

15. Leave this Facebook comment:

«This pic is hilarious. What’s actually going on there?» After he/she responds, say, «You should tell me in person. 🙂 Wanna hang out this weekend?»

16. Post status updates about movies, shows or games you’re going to see

If he/she is a fan too, she/he’ll have a reason to comment (and you’ll have an excuse to invite him/her along!).

17. Introduce a cute guy/girl to your friend.

It’s easier to approach him/her for someone else — and then you’ll get to talk to his/her cute buddies!

18. Leave him/her wanting more.

Go in for a kiss at the end of the night — but then turn your head and whisper you had a nice time instead!

19. Send a quick flirt text a minute after you trade numbers.

It will take him/her by surprise and make him/her smile.

20.  Practice, Practice, Practice

No one’s perfect at flirting the first time around. If the idea of flirting still gives you butterflies, don’t worry – it just means that you need more practice. The more you flirt, the easier it’ll get.
